About This Drug
This three-drug combination is used to treat severe earache in children and adults, most commonly a condition known as “swimmer’s ear,” in which water accumulates in the ear canal. The drug is classified as an analgesic. Although it can relieve symptoms, it cannot cure the infection.
The antipyrine provides pain relief, while the benzocaine deadens the nerves inside the ear, and the glycerin absorbs any water that is in the ear.
