How to Decorate the Bridal Suite

It’s not uncommon for the best man to decorate the couple’s car with streamers, balloons, or a sign that reads “just married.” Likewise, the maid of honor may decorate the bridal suite (also known as the wedding suite or honeymoon suite), which is where the bride and groom will spend their first night together as newlyweds.

Often, it’s easiest to leave the wedding a bit early and head to the bridal suite. You’ll probably want to enlist the help of a few of the other bridesmaids. Have someone stay behind at the wedding reception and call you on your cell phone to let you now when the bride and groom leave the reception so you’ll know exactly when they’ll be arriving.

When decorating, it’s best to keep the wedding suite simple and romantic. Some popular elements are rose petals on the floor and lots of votive candles. You could also leave a bottle of champagne and two champagne flutes on a table near the bed.
