How to Clean Plastic Decks and Porches

Plastic decking is nonporous, doesn’t stain easily, and requires almost no maintenance. However, it does get hot quickly and can become very slippery when wet.
  • Cleaning plastic decking: Whenever plastic deck surfaces become dirty or mildewed, wash them by scrubbing with deck cleaner, laundry detergent, or another cleanser of your choice. Remove mildew with chlorine or oxygen bleach, and rinse well. Plastic decking also stands up well to pressure washing.
  • Maintaining plastic decking: Plastic decking doesn’t requires stain, paint, or sealant. Keep it clean, and it should outlast all other decking materials.
