Getting Started
Once you’ve completed the border pattern and the yoke, the rest of the dress is a breeze. It’s easy to make the pattern longer if necessary before assembly.

You Will Need
- 3 to 4 skeins (each 200 yards [183m]) of fingering-weight yarn in periwinkle (precise amount depends on size of the garment).
- Size E hook
- Tapestry needle
The sample project was made in size 9 to 12 months, using 4 skeins (each 200 yards [183m]) of Jaeger Matchmaker Merino 4-ply 1-3/4 ounce (50 g) yarn (100% merino wool) in Opal, color #717.

- double crochet (dc)
- half-double crochet (hdc)
Gauge in double crochet
- 22 sts = 4" (10.2 cm)

Pattern Notes
- The yoke and sleeves are worked from one wrist to the other.
- In the yoke and on the sleeves, the chain at the begginning of each row counts as a stitch.
- In the skirt, the chain at the begginning of each round marks the center back.
- As you crochet in the round on the skirt, each row of stitches slants to the left. You need to straighten the rows when you block the skirt before assembly.
