Instructions

The Case

  • Foundation: Using the E hook and purple yarn, ch 25, turn.
  • Row 1: Ch 2, hdc in 3rd ch from the hk and ea ch across, turn.
  • Rows 2–52: Ch 2, hdc in ea st across, turn.
  • Weave in the ends.

The Strap

  • Foundation: Using the C hook and magenta yarn, ch 8, turn.
  • Row 1: Ch 1, sc in 2nd ch from hk and ea ch across, turn.
  • Rows 2–224: Ch 1, sc in ea st across, turn.
  • Weave in the ends.

Assembly

Find the 28th row from one end of the strap, and place it by the first row of the case. Hold both pieces together, and use the C hook and purple yarn to sc through the edge of both pieces. Work around the case as shown in the figure below until you come to row 36 of the strap. Weave in the ends. Repeat for the other end of the strap and opposite side of the case.
Sew the top half of the purchased buckle to the center of the top flap’s edge, and the bottom half to the front of the bag. You want the top and bottom of the buckle to line up when the flap is closed. It will help to fill the case with CDs, and then mark where the bottom half of the buckle will go before sewing it.
