An Introduction to Excel Functions
This guide covers all of Excel 2007’s built-in functions, divided into these 12 categories:
- Financial functions
- Date and time functions
- Math and trigonometry functions
- Statistical functions
- Lookup and reference functions
- Database functions
- Text functions
- Logical functions
- Information functions
- Engineering functions
- Cube functions
- Add-in and automation functions
The syntax column in the tables of this guide do not include the equal sign or the function’s name where they should appear when you write functions in Excel. For instance, the syntax for the DATE function is listed in this guide as (year, month, day)—to use the DATE function in Excel, you would write =DATE(year, month, day) in the formula bar.
