Here are a few items that make doing laundry easier:

Detergent: Laundry detergent comes in two forms: powder and liquid. For a reminder of home, buy the brand your parents use.

Fabric softener: Fabric softener softens laundry and eliminates static cling. Its available in two forms: liquid fabric softener and fabric softener sheets (dryer sheets).

Mesh bags: Mesh bags hold delicates, such as lingerie and sweaters, that might snag or tear in the washer or dryer.

A roll of quarters or your student ID card: Those machines aren’t free, sadly.
