The Scissors

  • Purpose: Strengthens powerhouse while stretching thighs and hips and increasing spine flexibility
  • Sets: 5–10 repetitions in each direction

Steps

  1. Lie on back with legs bent. Keep feet and palms flat on floor.
  2. Exhaling, pull back midsection, lifting knees above hips.
  3. Inhaling, move into shoulder stand while stretching toes toward ceiling and supporting hips with hands.
  4. Exhaling, bring right leg toward head and left leg away from head.
  5. Inhaling, switch legs.
