Other Wedding Events
Many weddings include other events on the night before, and the day after, the wedding ceremony and reception.
The Rehearsal Dinner
The day before the wedding, the wedding party runs through a rehearsal of the wedding ceremony. After the rehearsal, the wedding party typically gathers for a rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal dinner guests usually include:
- The wedding party and their dates
- The officiant and his or her spouse
- Parents and grandparents of the bride and groom
- Everyone who will participate in the ceremony
- The parents of children in the wedding party
- Out-of-town family members
- All out-of-town guests (if the budget allows)
Your rehearsal dinner can be as formal or as relaxed as you’d like. Many couples present gifts to their attendants at the rehearsal dinner to thank them for helping with the wedding. Some couples also use the rehearsal dinner for speeches and toasts.
The Morning-After Brunch
The morning-after brunch is usually a breakfast buffet held for out-of-town guests, and sometimes for all guests. Often a grandparent or close family friend hosts it.
